1.
What are the treatments available and who are they for?
Treatments usually need 2-3 sessions to complete depending on how
an individual's skin accepts colour. Treatments available for make-up
are: Eyebrows, Lipliner, Full lip colour, Eyeliner, Beauty spots
Scar Camouflage
To reduce red angry scars and promote natural collagen in the skin,
so as to plump scar tissue out. This is usually done in stages dependant
on the size of the scar, pigments are chosen to match the natural
skin tone, however it will not change with the rest of the skin
when promoting a tan.
Areola Reconstruction
For women who have gone through reconstructive surgery after a Mastectomy
or for people who have pigment problems in this area. The results
are amazing and really do change these patients' lives and confidences.
Many Doctors and Surgeons are now recommending this to their patients.
Hair Simulation
Lost hair to head, eyebrows or skin can be simulated with very fine
needle strokes and in two or three different colours to give a 3D
effect of hair growth. Again very popular for Aloepecia sufferers
or patients in remission who have lost eyebrows through radiation
and chemotherapy. Also, to cover scars on brow, or male beard and
moustache areas as well as for cosmetic reasons.
Body Art
An alternative to a traditional Tattoo and a little less painful
as the pigment is placed in the skin at a higher level. It may fade
after about five years but never fully disappear.
2. How are the treatments performed?
The technique is applied with a digitally controlled machine with
a hand held piece that can be controlled by a foot pedal or by hand.
The machine cuts out the fear factor of the usual tattoo drill,
as there is no sound when switched on. The machine is used with
a very fine needle at a very rapid pace, which also eliminates some
of the discomfort for the client along with a topical anaesthetic
that is used before the treatment. With this combination, the actual
procedure will feel like small scratching sensations.
Procedures can take anything from 10 minutes to 1 hour dependent
on what the clients chosen treatment is. This time excludes time
for consultation and the assessment of shapes, colours and areas
to be treated.
3. How do you become qualified
to offer the treatment professionally?
LCN teaches micropigmentation to the highest standards, allied to
the availability of the most up-to-date equipment and technology
available, in compliance with all the health and safety requirements.
All students are fully insured for all practical treatments and
tuition whilst in training. The courses can range from between 1-
5 days dependent on the chosen field. All students are carefully
monitored and assessed throughout the course and once they have
received their certificate of achievement they will then need to
obtain their own insurance. This is available through our own insurers,
HSBC.
Our own training qualifications
Our LCN Trainer has been a practising micropigmentation
technician for many years before taking her teacher training diploma
in this field in London's Harley Street, she also has taught nails
and beauty for several years previous to this.
Should a student not reach the required standard to obtain a working
practice certificate, they are able to come back for further training
free of charge. Colour workshops or refresher courses are also offered
for those that feel extra tuition is needed and annual workshops
are also provided to inform students about any new methods and regulations.
These are offered free of charge to LCN customers.
4.
What can I expect to earn?
Earnings
in the field of micropigmentation can be quite substantial and can
range from a body art tattoo of £45 up to a scar or reconstruction
treatment of £1,000. However the average earnings will be
for procedures such as eyebrows or liplines which range from £250
- £400 per treatment (dependent on which part of the country
you live in) and will take about 1 hour per treatment.
